Marriage and marriage relationship is pretty much like getting a lemon. Lemon, from the outside look, is beautiful, and smooth and looks tasty to the eyes. If you have not tasted it before, you would think that the taste would be as good as the look. But once you taste it, you realize that the sourness of the fruit requires an acquired taste. You have to learn to like it and enjoy its taste.
Also, naturally, lemons are soured. So how do you transform its sourness to sweetness and from a lemon to lemonade? First of all, you’ve got to know the nature of lemons. It is created as a fruit and by nature, it is sour. If you want lemonade juice, you’ve got to cut it open in halves or quarters. Have a glass ready, and squeeze the juice out of the lemon into it. Then add sugar and sweeteners to the juice. Then out comes the lemonade!
By the same token, a marriage relationship at first sight is just like a lemon. You see your potential future spouse, so nice and clean. So innocent and beautiful. What you do not know is that just like the lemon, how your potential partner will “taste” like. The only way to find out is to take it peel it and taste it with your “mouth.” Finding a way to “sugar” it so that you can enjoy your “lemon” of marriage relationship.
